Google Chrome is getting an AI-power makeover and it’s fantastic

If your go-to browser is Google Chrome, then this week’s update ‘Help me write’ will bring upon drastic changes to your web surfing.

Google is pushing AI like it has never before. In the recent week we saw Google changing its Bard to Gemini, investing a multimillion dollar deal with Reddit, and many more to strengthen the core of AI.

Now, Google is testing an AI-powered feature called Help Me Write on Chrome browser in the United States. This new feature is only available in English, while the feature does have potential and long range of benefits but it should be noted that it is still in its initial phase.

Being in the experimental stage can make the response a bit inaccurate; here, leaving your feedback will help the AI to get better at its work. You can write suggestions or simply leave out thumbs up or down to teach the AI to get better at the response.

If you are enrolled in Google’s experimental AI program on chrome, you will be able to use the service on your Google services. The Help Me Write feature can be accessed on Google Messages, Gmail, Docs, and other products.

What does Help Me Write do?

Help me Write on chrome provides a more convenient way to help users to draft messages, write a review on products, and perform questions on products. This AI- helper will act as an assistant to your web surfing, as it will be by the side helping you form long-term content, edit, and give out proper response to posts.

How to Access Help Me Write on Google Chrome?

Here are the steps to activate Help me write on your Google Chrome.

  • First, open up Chrome on your computer
  • Then go to Settings, click on Experimental AI
  • Once you are in the Experimental AI page, here you have to make your way to the Try Out Experimental AI features, only then you can enable the Help me Write option.

Voilà, now you have helped me write enabled on your chrome. Now you just have to open any page on chrome, right-click on the page, here you will see Help Me Write in the drop-down menu.

Now you can ask any question you have in your mind about the product or services, or just leave instructions.  After you are done asking your question, next you have to hit Create for the tool to generate the desired text.

Users also have the option to create more out of the same response left by the AI, if you don’t find the response to be satisfactory, then you can always hit Update for the AI to come up with another one.

The company has not given any information about releasing the feature to the world; but we will definitely see Google rolling out Help me write in multiple languages once they wax out the rough edges.
